No Oil Salad Dressing

Nice No-Oil Salad Dressing

Although oil is a main ingredient in many creamy salad dressing recipes and, of course, in an oil and vinegar salad dressing recipe, not everybody wants to use this ingredient. It is possible to make a wide range of delicious salad dressings without using oil though, so it is not required if you would prefer not to use it. If you do not mind using an ingredient which contains oil (like mayonnaise) you can use that instead. If not, you can make a completely oil-free salad dressing. Oil is often used in dressings because it binds the other ingredients together and offers a rich, smooth texture, but it is not a necessary ingredient.

Salad Dressing without Oil

What about blending balsamic vinegar with garlic, roasted red pepper, and thyme in the blender, to make a sweet and tangy no-oil salad dressing, or combining ingredients like tomatoes, basil, red wine vinegar, and lemon for an Italian style salad dressing? Citrus juice is also good in salad dressing recipes and you might like to use lemon juice or lime juice. Sometimes a salad has plenty of moisture and flavor of its own and a squeeze of lime juice is all you need to bring out the flavor. If your salad is plainer, perhaps a plateful of mixed greens with some onion and tomato, you might want to make a no-oil salad dressing with a more complex flavor. Fortunately there are plenty to choose from, and all of them are easy to prepare.
