Low-carb diets are diets people generally get involved in for health reasons. They are quite detailed and demand good record keeping and meals planned ahead of time so the individual is aware of how many extra carbs are available during the day, just in case they want to exchange something at the last moment.

Peeled, sliced cucumber only gives up 2.6 carbs per cup and a medium hardboiled egg is just less than 2 grams of carbs.
Put two tablespoons of dressing on a saucer or in a small dessert cup. On the back of each dressing bottle is the measurement for two tablespoons of dressing. One brand of reduced fat Honey Dijon Mustard has 8 grams of carbs in a two-tablespoon serving. Light Ranch listed 6 carbs. Blue Cheese dressing was 1 gram of carbs. Plan, prepare and record your carb intake and you can have your salad dressing and eat it, too.
Low Carb Salad Tips
Eating healthily usually means filling up on fruit and vegetables but if you are eating low carb food, you will be looking at things in a different way and choosing a different approach. Eating a low carb diet usually means you can fill up on proteins and even fat.
Try making a chicken salad by combining shredded cooked chicken with mayonnaise and grated cheese, then serve on a couple of big salad leaves, or stir together tuna and sour cream to make a creamy tuna salad. These salads are low in carbs but satisfying and yummy.
Obviously you cannot serve them on bread if you are lowering your carbs, but you can have a couple of lettuce leaves or even wrap the salad in slices of cheese for something different.
You can either use sour cream, mayonnaise, or low-carb dressing, but do not use reduced-fat dressings because these are often higher in carbs. Changing your diet is not always easy but if you make sure your meals are flavorful, that is half the battle won.
